LHS ACT TEST PREP - FALL & SPRING SEMINARS
​​Fall Dates: 2024 Fall seminar will be offered at Lincoln High School on the following Saturday dates from 8am – 12pm: September 21 – Overview of ACT and Pre-test, September 28 – English/Math, October 5– Reading/Science, and  October 19 – Post-Test 
​Winter Dates: 2025 Winter Seminar will be offered at LHS on the following Saturday dates from 8am - 12pm: January 4 - Overview of ACT and Pre-Test,  January 11 - English/Math, January 25 - Reading/Science, & February 1 - Post-Test

​***Students may elect to send ACT scores to LHS or directly to the university. Scores sent to LHS are uploaded into Infinite Campus by ITS a few months after testing is completed. If you need expedited scores, please select scores sent directly to the university. If you do not indicate a specific college/university when you register for the ACT, you can request your scores sent from ACT at a later point.  There is typically a one week delay due to processing as well as an additional fee for this service.

Accuplacer Placement Test
The Accuplacer is a computer-based placement test designed to assess skill levels in Reading, English, and Math. The results of the Accuplacer are used by academic advisors to place students in the college courses matching their skill level. High school students seeking dual credit without valid placement scores (ACT or SAT) must take the Accuplacer. Schedule the Accuplacer at one of these testing sites:

Asvab Test
​The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Contact your counselor to register for the ASVAB.

PSAT
​The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT. It is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship for Junior students. Highly motivated Sophomores may also choose to test but do not qualify for the scholarship competition. ​

The PSAT is offered annually in the fall. The test date is October 9, 2024 at 7:30am in the New Gym. 
  • Pre-Registration:: TBD.
  • Payment of $25:
    • Debit or Credit Card through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Link: Parent Portal . Log onto your Parent Portal/Fees/Optional Payments/ Select LHS PSAT Fee then go to My Cart and make payment.
    • Or Check made out to Lincoln High School and turned into the counseling office.
    • Or Cash turned into the counseling office.
  • Student pre-registration paperwork (takes approximately 30 minutes):
    • Before or after school, WIN time, or Study in the counseling office.​
    • Pre-registration paperwork will arrive at Lincoln High School the week of September 26th. Please listen to the announcements and read your emails for the times that you will be able to complete the forms.
PSAT Review Workshop
​PSAT Review sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 in E219 beginning TBD.  PSAT Review books are available for sale for $10 as well.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Morrison in E219.

PreACT
​The PreACT is the practice test for the ACT.  It is offered to Sophomores.
Testing date is March 2, 2024 starting at 8:00am at LHS , please arrive at 7:45am

  • Pre-Registration starts January 31 and runs through February 22 at 4:00 PM (Please note that payments made online also end February 22th at 4:00 PM). 
  • Payment of $25​​

NCRC
​National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) - The NCRC is a requirement by the state of SD and will be administered for all senior students on October 16, 2024. The exam includes three assessments, each lasting 55 minutes: Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy and Applied Math. Results are categorized by the following: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The exam offers individuals, employers, and educators an easily understood and nationally valued credential certifying essential workplace skills. 

STAMP
​STAMP (Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency) language proficiency exam will be administered on October 16, 2024 for the Spanish Immersion program participants who have not completed the test previously. The exam provides constructive analysis and data for program development, enabling educators to improve language learning outcomes and make more informed decisions on curriculum and training.  In addition, states have approved STAMP to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award provided in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The Seal of Biliteracy is a gold seal on the transcript or diploma of the graduating senior and is a statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admission.
