Get Involved! One of the best ways to make the most of your high school experience is to get involved. It's an opportunity for personal development, making an impact, building your skills, experiencing new things, and strengthening relationships! Build strong study skills - one of the most important tasks of your freshman year is to learn effective study habits.
- Take the Learning Style Quiz on SDMyLife.com to help you identify if you learn best through auditory, visual, or tactile methods. Then learn about helpful study tips for your learning style.

Focus on your grades - your high school transcript is an important part of your post high planning. Good grades will help to support your future goals (scholarship eligibility, admission to post-secondary schools. etc.). Students interested in playing sports in college can register their Freshman year (NCAA recommends registering no later than the start of the sophomore year):

Career Day Activities - Explore the career focused coursework at the CTE Academy

Career Development - learning about careers requires time and effort. Counselors meet with all 9th grade students in English I classrooms for career development utilizing the SDmyLife career exploration program. Students should continue exploring careers and taking interest inventories provided on this site. Take a look at the career development page below and begin exploring the links offering interest inventories, career information, and educational opportunities.
